YOUR PATHWAY TO BECOMING A
CERTIFIED MARKET ACCESS PROFESSIONAL

CAHR is pleased to offer members the opportunity to become a CMAP – Certified Market Access Professional.

The CMAP Certification Program is developed and maintained by a team of experienced market access leaders in concert with the Council for Continuing Pharmaceutical Education (CCPE) and PSP Solutions, both trusted names in pharmaceutical industry training. The completion of the program provides proof of your commitment to professional development.

Upon completion you will be able to:

  • Discuss how review processes, pricing and regulations impact public and private payer environments
  • Find the information necessary to understand public and private submission processes
  • Identify key players in the market access and reimbursement environments
  • Discuss the intricacies of bringing a new drug to market in Canada
  • Identify the key approvals pathways, processes and agencies involved in bringing a new drug to market in Canada
  • Discuss basic pharmacoeconomics or leverage a solid foundation in all areas of patient support programs in Canada

Successful completion of the program qualifies you as a Certified Market Access Professional (CMAP) and is verifiable through CAHR.

CMAP CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

The Certified Market Access Professional (CMAP) Certification program combines modular paper-based independent learning from CCPE and PSP Solutions, combined with group-learning and networking at CAHR market access conferences. This approach provides a strong foundation and keeps you abreast of the dynamic Canadian market access environment.

The CMAP program requires the completion of four components as follows:

  1. Market Access 101 (in-person)
  2. Market Access Forum (in-person)
  3. Pharmaceutical Market Access in Canada (modular, paper-based self-driven core course )
  4. Completion of one of the following elective modular, paper-based self-driven courses:
  • Introduction to Patient Support Programs, or
  • Basic Pharmacoeconomics

Candidates may register at any time and start with any component. However, it is recommended that candidates read the Pharmaceutical Market Access in Canada course content as a foundation before attending Market Access 101.

As attendance at CAHR’s Market Access 101 and Market Access Forum is required to complete the certification.

* Note: If you have completed this course through CCPE within the past two years, you will receive credit and will only need to attend the MA101 and Market Access Forum (MAF) formerly known as MA201 conferences in order to receive your certification.
