Ferg passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in September 2022. He was a long-standing and integral member of CAHR’s board for many years and he helped to shape many significant aspects of our work. Ferg’s academic achievements include graduating with an MSc in Economic Evaluation & Health Technology Assessment from the University of York, United Kingdom. In addition to his impact as an active consultant in healthcare reimbursement, Ferg was passionate about CAHR and the market access industry, working tirelessly to develop programming for CAHR’s events, such as Montréal Day, Market Access 101 and 201, and National Day.


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Students must be registered in a Canadian graduate school (Master’s, PharmD or PhD program) pursuing studies and/or research in an area related to healthcare reimbursement.
  • Applicants do not need to be a CAHR member.

GUIDELINES
CAHR will evaluate applications according to:

  1. Academic qualifications.
  2. Relevance to healthcare reimbursement field.
  3. Professional/volunteer experiences.
  • The recipients will acknowledge their CAHR Scholarship in publications and presentations supported by this award.
  • The successful candidates will report their advancement in the field of healthcare reimbursement to the CAHR board and may be invited to also do so in other forums.

THE APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE

  • Your curriculum vitae
  • A letter of reference from your current academic supervisor that can speak to your academic and research abilities and potential impact in the field of healthcare reimbursement
  • A submission an essay of no more than 1,000 words describing yourself and your field of study and how you feel it is applicable to the advancement of market access.r aspirations.

All documents should be uploaded by the applicant via the Scholarship application page on the CAHR website. Confirmation of receipt can be verified by contacting the CAHR office.

* CAHR will disburse the total scholarship amount directly to the selected recipients once CAHR has been provided with the recipient’s address and any other details that may be required for tax purposes.

The scholarship is to be used to defray costs associated with the student’s schooling, including direct costs (e.g. tuition, research assistance, supplies, etc.), as well as living expenses.

The successful applicant may be invited to attend a CAHR event to receive public recognition.
